Dr. George Vergolias

Dr. George Vergoias

Dr. George Vergolias is an internationally recognized forensic psychologist and threat management expert.

 

Dr. Vergolias is the founder of TelePsych Supports. He provides advisory support to our primary Clinical Directors who run the daily operation - Dr. Allison Williams and Dr. Alexia Maneschi.  

 

Dr. Vergolias also serves as Medical Director of R3 Continuum, a company providing consultation to employers on behaviors of concern in the workplace, leading their Threat of Violence and Workplace Violence programs.

He holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School, completed internship at the Durham VA Medical Center and Duke University Hospital, and post-doctoral training in Forensic Psychology affiliated with the University of Notre Dame. 

 

He has over 20 years of forensic experience, with expertise in the following areas:

  • civil and involuntary commitment

  • suicide and self-harm

  • violence risk and threat management

  • workplace violence

  • psychological dynamics of stalking

  • sexual offending, emotional trauma

  • occupational disability

  • law enforcement consultation

  • expert witness testimony

  • tele-mental health
     

Dr. Vergolias has directly assessed or managed over one thousand cases related to elevated risk for violence, sexual assault, stalking, threat to self, and communicated threats. He has consulted with regional, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Secret Service, and BOP. He has worked for and consulted with Fortune 500 companies, major insurance carriers, government agencies, and large healthcare systems on issues related to work absence management, workplace violence, medical necessity reviews, and expert witness consultation.
 

Dr. Vergolias is an engaging and sought-after speaker, who has presented to numerous regional, national, and international audiences on a range of forensic, threat management, and absence management topics.
